Care Tips For Your Landscape Curbing

SECOND VISITS

For all stained and textured curbing designs:  The installation is complete in two visits.  The crew will return to pick up any excess concrete and apply a clear sealer, which enhances the concrete’s colors and provides protection against environmental factors.

FINAL APPEARANCE

Your curbing will take about 2-4 weeks to FULLY CURE and REVEAL its final colors.

KEEP PETS, PEOPLE, & OBJECTS AWAY!

For at least 24 HOURS - keep everything away from the curbing. Any damage incurred after the installation will result in a service call repair fee.  Although it will feel hard, it still needs several days to fully cure.

SEALER MAINTENANCE

We recommend resealing your curbing every 18-24 months to maintain its appearance and protect it from the elements. We can guide you through this process or offer our resealing service.

Precautions

You may begin sod laying, sprinkler work, or landscaping 24 hours after installation, but please proceed with caution. Tools like shovels, mowers, and wheelbarrows can damage the curb during the curing period.

Protect your curb from heavy loads. If you must use wheelbarrows over the curb, create a dirt mound (6” deep) or a ramp to prevent cracking. Avoid allowing tractors or trucks to drive over the curb.

EFFLORESCENCE PREVENTION

Efflorescence, a harmless white powder, may appear due to water from sprinklers or rain. Adjust your sprinklers to minimize direct contact with the curb.

If you've recently planted sod and are watering frequently, efflorescence may be more common. Once your lawn is established, allow the curb to dry and clean it with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution. Multiple cleanings may be required, but the efflorescence will eventually disappear.

CRACKING

Like all concrete, your curbing may crack. Cracks outside of expansion joints will be repaired under warranty during the warranty period. Please note, perfect color matching on repairs, especially for colored concrete, may not be possible.

RETROFIT INSTALLATION

If your curbing was installed over existing grass, some small pieces of concrete may remain on the ground. We will remove these during our second visit. Any smaller debris can be covered with dirt or mulch.
